Cove Cottage. It is a truly magical place - the peaceful, exquisite
views from every window, the fun, fenced grounds for our happy dogs
... this is one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited.

"Thank you for letting us rent your cabin! We had a great time
exploring the beach front & the area of Sooke. We travelled to
Victoria to see the lovely Buchart Gardens. What colours! We
also travelled through the rugged but beautiful terrain of the
Sooke Potholes. The men in our family went golfing at Olympic
View Golf Course and had a blast. As a family we went hiking
in East Sooke Park. We ate at many wonderful restaurants.
Most memorable was of course at Mom's (we took advice from
previous entries of this stop).
17 Mile Pub was a surprise to us, we assumed it was a
fancy pub, but it turned out to be a great little eatery.
Our dogs also loved time spent here! They thoroughly
explored all sea life (under our watchful eyes, of course).
They liked snapping at the waves the most!
Birds were great! Great blue heron, red-breasted
sapsucker, california quail, brown-backed chickadees, & more!

"What a wonderful spot! My husband brought me here as a birthday
surprise. What a delightful surprise. It was especially enjoyable
as we had never been able to travel with our 2 dogs. It is their
first time to have been able to wade in the water, bark @ ducks
and geese and (in 'Striders' part) the shadows on the rocks!
We went for a walk on Pike road (with the dogs). Ate at
Markus' Restaurant and totally relaxed. Thank you so much!"

"Had a wonderful time. Thank you. We went to the StonePipe Grill
in town. We would recommend it. Very good food, nicely served.
We also recommend the short hike to China Beach to see the hidden
waterfall off the beach, and East Sooke Park trail and the
beach and lookout.
Nearby 17 Mile Pub has decent food and a fun backyard -
volleyball, bocce, pool table - but kids aren't allowed at this
establishment. StonePipe Grill in Sooke was our favourite.

"Thank you for a wonderful week! We followed advice from friends and
rented this cottage, and it was even more than we expected! The kids
had a blast with the starfish, crabs & jellyfish down below. We
didn't see any otters but saw the heron, an eagle, swans, and 4 tiny
bunnies at the corner of the stairs down below. We went whale watching,
visited the Inner Harbour, Sooke Potholes and China Beach.
It was a great week, thank you!"

"A wonderful spot & from the cottage we have seen eagle, seals,
otter, starfish, crabs and rabbits. We went whale watching which
was fantastic and ate good food in the StonePipe Grill. Victoria
was well worth a visit (or two!). Kayaks were hired from 'RUSH'
for half a day, good to be out on the water but hard work! All
in all a great week."

"Five types of starfish, 25 types of birds! Saw a bear at Botanical
Beach and we ran! Liked dinner at Sooke Harbour House, East Sooke
Park to Beecher Bay, great walk! Overall a wonderful holiday.

"The power outage was the highlight of our stay, thanks to your
thoughtful provisioning, clear skies and the bright full moon
spilling across Sooke Basin. The moon-light reflecting off the
wind-tossed arbutus leaves was mini-light magic."

"We are definitely not ready to leave this very peaceful & serene
cabin. From the sun waking you up shining on your face to coffee
on the deck to the eagles, quails, hummingbirds, geese, and blue
heron on the island - oh yes, the deer too! It has been fabulous
and our yellow lab absolutely loved it - the fresh air
and all the smells! Thanks for a beautiful and peaceful getaway."

"Wonderful week spent both around the cottage and in surrounding
parks & beaches. Great views, plenty of wildlife. We saw starfish,
crabs, otters, seals, eagles and many other birds from the cottage.
A surprising bear encounter at the Potholes! Whales off of French
Beach. Botanical Beach spectacular - followed up by great lunch
at 'Renfrew Hotel', lovely views from terrace. Resident seals and
sea otter can be seen from the pier. Would recommend Adrenaline
experience and kayaking from Fuse Grill.
Loved the cottage - hope you might too!"

"We had a wonderful time and the week was not long enough. It is
such a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the city. Went
fishing and saw numerous whales. It was great seeing all the
wildlife from the cottage. We took several day trips but enjoyed
our time right at the cottage."
